Thermal Induction Chillers Play A Critical Role in Induction Welding

Mar 10, 2025|

Thermal Induction Chillers play a critical role in non-fiber laser applications such as induction welding, metal smelting, quenching, resistance welding, as well as in printing presses and injection molding machines. Their core function is to ensure process stability, enhance equipment efficiency, and prolong service life through precise temperature control.

I. Induction Welding

Temperature Regulation:
During induction welding, coils generate instantaneous high temperatures (exceeding 1000°C). The chiller rapidly removes residual heat from coils and workpieces to prevent overheating deformation or burnout, ensuring weld joint uniformity and improving production yield.

Equipment Protection:
Cools induction coils and power modules to prevent high-temperature shutdowns in high-frequency equipment. Reduces maintenance downtime and extends equipment lifespan (e.g., automotive component welding lines).

II. Metal Smelting

Smelting Stability:
Induction smelting furnaces (e.g., for copper/aluminum smelting) require continuous heat dissipation to maintain molten metal temperature stability. The chiller reduces furnace energy consumption through waste heat recovery design.

III. Resistance Welding

Electrode Cooling:
During spot/seam welding, electrode tips generate extreme heat from high currents. The chiller cools electrodes to prevent adhesion or oxidation, extending electrode lifespan by 3-5 times and improving weld quality.

IV. Printing Presses

Roller Temperature Control:
Cools printing rollers during high-speed operation to prevent thermal expansion-induced color misalignment. Ensures high-precision printing and maintains ink system temperature stability, boosting production efficiency.

V. Injection Molding Machines

Mold Rapid Cooling:
Circulates coolant to shorten molding cycles, increase output, and reduce per-unit costs.

Hydraulic System Cooling:
Dissipates heat from hydraulic oil to prevent seal aging or pressure fluctuations caused by high temperatures, minimizing equipment failure rates.
