Maintenance Of Laser Cutting Equipment

Apr 14, 2025|

Maintenance of laser cutting equipment is essential to extend the service life of the equipment and ensure the cutting quality. Here are some common maintenance methods:

Daily maintenance

- Cleaning equipment: After work every day, turn off the power and wipe the cutting head, guide rails, workbench and other parts with a clean soft cloth to remove dust, debris and cutting residues.

- Checking gas: Check the pressure and purity of various gases (such as oxygen, nitrogen, etc.) used by laser cutting equipment to ensure that the gas supply is stable and meets the equipment requirements.

- Cleaning the slag discharge system: Clean the waste slag in the slag discharge trough and slag discharge pipeline in time to prevent the accumulation of waste slag from affecting the slag discharge effect and even clogging the pipeline.

Regular maintenance

- Optical system maintenance: Check the surface condition of the laser lens every 1-2 weeks. If there is dirt, dust or damage, wipe or replace it with a special optical lens cleaning fluid and dust-free cloth. At the same time, calibrate the optical path regularly to ensure good laser transmission and focusing effects.

- Guide rail and lead screw lubrication: Lubricate and maintain the guide rail and lead screw every month. First, wipe off the oil and dust on the surface with a clean cloth, and then apply an appropriate amount of special lubricating oil to reduce friction and ensure the accuracy and stability of moving parts.

- Electrical system inspection: Check the connection of the electrical system every month to ensure that the wire connectors, sockets, etc. are not loose or overheated. At the same time, clean the dust in the electrical cabinet to prevent excessive dust accumulation from affecting heat dissipation and causing electrical failures.

- Cutting head inspection: Check the wear of the nozzle, protective mirror and other parts of the cutting head every month, and replace them in time if they are worn. At the same time, check whether the height adjustment mechanism of the cutting head and the position of the focusing lens are accurate. If there is any deviation, adjust them.

Annual maintenance

- Comprehensive inspection: Perform a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the equipment once a year, including various aspects such as mechanical structure, electrical system, optical system, etc. Perform precision inspection and calibration on key components of the equipment, such as the levelness of the workbench and the straightness of the guide rail.

- Replace wearing parts: According to the use of the equipment, some wearing parts are replaced, such as the laser's xenon lamp, reflector, focusing mirror, etc. At the same time, check the cooling system's pipes, valves and other components, and replace them in time if they are aged or damaged.

- Software upgrade: Update the equipment's control software and driver in a timely manner to optimize equipment performance, fix possible software vulnerabilities, and improve equipment stability and cutting efficiency.
