How To Add Water To A Chiller
Jun 30, 2025| Our chillers require pure water, distilled water, deionized water or high-purity water to ensure better performance and longer service life.
Our recommended water quality parameters are as follows: PH value is 7.2-8.1, conductivity is 10-500μS/cm, and chloride ion concentration is less than 50mg/L.
If tap water or non-pure water is added without using it as required, the following risks will occur:
1. Tap water or non-pure water will form scale after high temperature heating, which will affect the purity of the laser head and cause the laser head to burn.
2. Microorganisms will breed in the water tank, and will adhere to the plate changer and laser after water circulation, affecting the heat exchange effect. As the microorganisms continue to multiply and increase, the plate changer and laser will be blocked, resulting in a high-temperature alarm of the laser. 3. If the tap water is acidic or alkaline, it may corrode the laser cold plate. The solid oxide generated by the reaction will seriously block the internal channel of the plate exchange, causing the system pressure to be too high, and even water leakage. What is more serious is that the cooling capacity drops sharply, causing the laser alarm to not work normally.
We recommend that customers perform daily maintenance according to the requirements of the chiller manual: clean the filter every 7 to 10 days, and replace the water every 15 to 20 days.
